~ Open House ~
We had our open house last night for all of our new students and their families who are joining us here at HDC for the school year.
We hope it was informative and a good time for all. Here are a few of the projects and activities that took place last night.
A HDC scavenger hunt for the children and their parents to complete. Can you find the bathroom, teacher, easel, morning meeting rug, the block center and your cubby?
In room 1 (Aimee & Celimar's class) children and their parents were invited to make a picture of their family and leave a parent wish for the school year.
In room 1 (Aimee & Celimar's class) children and their parents were invited to make a picture of their family and leave a parent wish for the school year.
In room 2 (Joan & Mimi's class) children and their parents were invited to paint a frame and take a picture together. They were also invited to build a bridge for the toy elephants with cups and popsicle sticks.
In room 3 (Marcie's class) the children were busy exploring the classroom. The parents talked with Marcie about the children's daily routine and she explained and passed out the first homework assignment.
Her class is ready for a poppin' year!
In room 4 (Jasmine's Class) the children were decorating puzzle pieces with the children's likes and interests. Each child is unique like a puzzle piece but all together they make a masterpiece.
In room 5 (Sonia's class) the children and their parents were invited to draw a picture of each other (the child draws a picture of the parent(s) and the parent(s) draw a picture of the child). This assignment is also the first homework of the year for the classroom.
We are so lucky to have "smarties" like you!
We hope everyone has a wonderful school year and we are so happy that you chose Haverhill Daycare for your child and your family.
