Turkey Fun at HDC!
Here are just a few of the turkey inspired activities happening at HDC this week.
In Room 1 (Aimee & Celimar's room)...
Tye-Dye Turkeys
The children used eye droppers to drip liquid watercolors onto the coffee filters to make the tye dye effect.
Fall/Harvest inspired patterns
The children got to choose what type of pattern they wanted to create.
Paper Strip Turkeys
The children have been working hard on their scissor skills to create these cute turkeys.
Texture Turkey!
The children each created a feather using a different texture and were asked to talk about how it felt using descriptive language.
Disguise a turkey homework!
The turkey needs to find a disguise quick if he does not want to become dinner! Haha! The children and their families did a great job helping their turkey find a great disguise!
In room 4 (Marcie's room)...
Multimedia Turkeys
The children were invited to paint and decorate their turkey as they saw fit. Loving the Picasso-ish quality!
Name Turkeys
The children colored and put together their name turkey and worked on recognizing the letters in their names.
Thankful Turkey
The children reflected and talked about what they are thankful for and helped to decorate the turkey.
In Room 5 (Sonia & Jessica's room)...
Easel Painted Turkeys!
The children had to first trace and cut out the turkeys body. They then brought it over to the easel to add some bright feathers. Some of the children decided to add leaves from outside onto their picture as well.
Nov. homework - Create a 3D turkey!
The children and their families were asked to create a 3D turkey using recycled materials. So creative!
Feather Patterning
The children are working on their patterning skills in a hands on way that is also helping them to build the muscles in their fingers.
Painting with feathers
The children are practicing writing their names with the large feathers.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!
