Welcome to HDC 2018

Welcome to Haverhill Daycare Center!!!

We are so excited for another great year! Here are a few things to get us started off on the right foot.

On the board when you walk in the building is our calendar of events, HDC news, parent info and our holiday list.

Once you are in the building we have a large parent board over the cubbies as well.

This one will have school and community info as it becomes available. Right now it has the list of items you will need for your child every week.

This list includes:
  • Backpack (no plastic bags please)
  • Labeled change of clothes
  • Fitted crib sheet
  • Blanket
  • 1 comfort item for naptime such as a small stuffed animal or pillow
*We ask that everything fit in a zippered
backpack.
*We also ask that you please send your child in
close toed shoes for the playground.

We invite you to come talk to us and let us know what we can do to help you and your child throughout the year!

Your input is so important to us here at Haverhill Daycare Center and is vital in ensuring our ongoing quality improvement.

Messy Play

The best days end in messy clothes...

I’m sorry that my clothes got messy today but it helps to show what I have been learning...

Painting helps me to develop my creativity.
Sometimes I accidently get paint on my shirt as I work.

Sometimes my shirt gets a little wet. Water play offer endless opportunity for physical experiments and discoveries.

The mud kitchen is very messy but it helps me to develop my imagination and use of descriptive language.

The grass stains show that I have been using the outdoor area to develop and strengthen my gross motor skills.

This splodge is part of my lunch. I am trying so hard to use my utensils correctly when I eat.
These colorful marks were made from various markers. I am strengthening my fine motor skills so that I can write and draw with control.
One important thing to remember is that messy play is also sensory play. Helping children develop their senses by sensory learning will ultimately provide them with a solid foundation of knowledge for the years ahead.
So please try not to get upset if I come home with a few marks on my clothes.
