Messy Play

The best days end in messy clothes...

I’m sorry that my clothes got messy today but it helps to show what I have been learning...

Painting helps me to develop my creativity.
Sometimes I accidently get paint on my shirt as I work.

Sometimes my shirt gets a little wet. Water play offer endless opportunity for physical experiments and discoveries.

The mud kitchen is very messy but it helps me to develop my imagination and use of descriptive language.

The grass stains show that I have been using the outdoor area to develop and strengthen my gross motor skills.

This splodge is part of my lunch. I am trying so hard to use my utensils correctly when I eat.
These colorful marks were made from various markers. I am strengthening my fine motor skills so that I can write and draw with control.
One important thing to remember is that messy play is also sensory play. Helping children develop their senses by sensory learning will ultimately provide them with a solid foundation of knowledge for the years ahead.
So please try not to get upset if I come home with a few marks on my clothes.
